CHARLOTTE - Junior shortstop Rachel Heet (St. Louis, Mo. / Mehlville) became the third Saint Louis softball player in program history to be named to the Atlantic 10 Conference first team when she was selected by a vote of league coaches on Tuesday. Freshman outfielder Caitlin Trevillyan (Grayslake, Ill. / Carmel) and senior pitcher Lorena Floccari (Tallmadge, Ohio / Walsh Jesuit) were also honored with All-Rookie and All-Academic team accolades, respectively.

Heet, who was named to the 2007 A-10 All-Championship team, carried her hot hitting from the end of her sophomore season into her junior campaign. She leads the team with a .346 average, 56 hits, nine doubles, 32 RBIs, a .494 slugging percentage, a .390 on-base percentage, 14 multi-hit games and nine multiple-RBI games. Earlier this season, Heet became just the 16th player in school history to reach the 100-hit milestone.

With fewer than three complete seasons under her belt, Heet is tied for fifth in career triples (6), ranks sixth in RBIs (60), is tied for seventh in runs scored (61) and is tied for 10th in doubles (19). She needs just two more RBIs to tie SLU's single-season record, and her 56 hits rank fourth on the single-season list.

Trevillyan picked up All-Rookie accolades in her first season after choosing to walk on to the team last fall. She ranks second on the squad with a .280 average, 28 runs and 18 walks while posting one of the top fielding percentages on the team (.953). Against George Washington on March 22, Trevillyan smacked two home runs and drove in four runs to tie the school records for both home runs and RBIs in a game.

Floccari (7-13), who was also named to the All-Academic team last season, has been a standout in the classroom and on the field throughout her career. She is the Billikens' career leader in saves (7), appearances (143), starts (99) and innings pitched (636.2). Floccari also ranks second in wins (36), third in shutouts (8) and four in complete games (54) and strikeouts (414). The Lowe's Senior CLASS Award candidate leads the 2008 squad with a 3.14 ERA, 25 starts, two saves and 145.0 innings pitched.

Sixth-seeded SLU opens the A-10 Championship with a 3 p.m. (CT) game against tournament host and third-seeded Charlotte tomorrow.
