ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis women's tennis extended its winning streak to three with a 4-3 victory over Eastern Illinois Friday night at Sunset Tennis Center.

With the match tied 3-3, Caitlin McKenna clinched the win with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Merritt Whitley at No. 5 singles.

"Caitlin definitely provided the heroics tonight," head coach Jonathan Zych said. "She started slowly but certainly finished well. She knew she had to grind it out, and she hung in there and did it."

The Billikens (3-2) were playing shorthanded and conceded No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles. Eastern Illinois (1-2) tallied the doubles point by winning at No. 2, as Juliana Frey and Whitley edged Mia Elmore and Kasia Tomalak 8-6 at No. 2. Hailee Elmore and Sarah Septien were 8-4 winners over Cara Huck and Shannon Brooks at No. 1.

In addition to McKenna's win, the Bills were victorious at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles. Hailee Elmore blanked Huck 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1; Septien defeated Amanda Dibbs 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2; and Mia Elmore breezed past Frey 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3.
