Billikens Fall at No. 43 Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. - Saint Louis hung with No. 43 Tulsa through the No. 1 singles and doubles matches but the Hurricane proved to be too much for the Billikens (12-13) as they fell 7-0 in their final match of the regular season. In singles action, Katerina Lozanova beat Kindsay Grimes 6-3 in the first set at the No. 1 position but Grimes battled back to win the second set 6-4 and the tiebreaker 10-7 for the victory. Ana Renda and Tara Grant each fell to their Golden Hurricane (18-4) counterparts 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 and 3 singles while Rachel McCullagh and Caitlin Bokulic both lost 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 4 and 5 positions, respectively. At No. 6 singles, Allison Dobbins dropped her match 6-1, 6-2. Lozanova and Grant's doubles match at the No. 1 position was the closest but the Billikens ultimately fell 9-8. The remaining SLU tandems dropped their matches 8-0 and 8-2 at the No. 2 and 3 spots. Now Saint Louis awaits its seed for this week's Atlantic 10 Championship at Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa.
