St. Louis, Mo. - Amanda Hellberg and Katerina Lozanova will meet in the "A" Flight singles title match after completing the first day of the 2004 Billiken Fall Classic on Fri., Sept. 10, at The Billiken Tennis Center on campus. The Classic opened the fall tournament season for the Billikens. The other Midwest schools competing in the Classic are Bradley Unviersity and Eastern Illinois.

In "B" Flight singles semifinal play, Tara Grant will face Jill Wirtz (EIU) while Ana Renda meets teammate Rachel McCullagh.

Tina Grasso will face Kathleen Bowen (BU) and Ashley Glover (EIU) faces Marissa Bianchi (BU) in the Consolation semifinal bracket.

The "A" Doubles pairings will be Lozanova/Grant (SLU) against Chan/Kirley (BU) in the first semifinal match. The Billiken tandem of Renda/Hellberg will play the advancing team from the Grasso/McCullagh (SLU) and Freeman/Sasidharan (EIU) quarterfinal match.

"We had an overall awesome performance today with a 13-2 match record," said Billiken head coach Jonathan Zych. "Our goal was to dominate with effort, intensity and concentration and the desired results followed. This is a great start to the season for our young team."
