Saint Louis Billikens Athletics

A member of the Billiken Media Relations staff since October 2005, Brian Kunderman was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Media Relations in 2012. In his current position, Kunderman oversees the athletics department’s media relations and communication strategies along with assistant sports information directors Mickey Smith and Nick Rettig.
 
Kunderman has directed the publicity efforts for the Saint Louis men’s basketball program since 2010. He has been a part of Billiken teams that have won two Atlantic 10 Conference championships and made four NCAA Tournament appearances.
 
In 2012, Kunderman served as media coordinator of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Midwest Regional Championship. He has worked as a volunteer for NCAA Championships in track and field, wrestling, baseball and ice hockey, and he was a media volunteer at the 2018 PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club.
 
Kunderman began his media relations experience as a student assistant in the Southeast Missouri State University sports information office under the legendary Ron Hines. He went on to serve a two-year sports information graduate assistantship at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
 
Kunderman earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and public relations at Southeast Missouri (2002), where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, and a master’s degree in sports management at SIUE (2004). A native of Imperial, Missouri, he resides in Oakville, Missouri, with wife Jessica and daughters Justine and Juliet.
