Scott Kaar, M.D., assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and a team physician for all Saint Louis University Billikens team sports, has been named Billiken Head Team Physician.
Dr. Kaar joined the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine in August 2008, specializing in sports medicine. A native of Philadelphia, Penn., he attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, where he graduated summa cum laude and participated in intercollegiate basketball, serving as team captain his senior year. He continued his education at Case Western, where he attained his medical degree and was inducted to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Kaar completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center and then completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation under the direction of Dr. John Bergfeld, Dr. Anthony Miniaci, Dr. Mark Schickendantz and Dr. Richard Parker. While at the Cleveland Clinic, he gained clinical and operative experience, treating many high school, college and professional athletes.
Prior to coming to St. Louis, Dr. Kaar provided orthopaedic sports medicine care to the athletes of Cleveland State University and the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Indians professional teams.
