THE BASICS
Kelsey Etling singled twice in her final game at Saint Louis, but Dayton walked away with a 3-0 victory and the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship title Saturday afternoon at Fordham's Bahoshy Field.
 
The Billikens finished with a 31-22 record, winning 30 or more games in two consecutive seasons for a second time in program history. Their 31 wins are the second most all-time at SLU.
 
Chloe Rhine, Jane Kaniecki and Isabel Royle were selected to the All-Tournament team. In four games, Rhine was 4-for-8 with a home run, five RBIs, two doubles, a sacrifice, a 1.125 slugging percentage and a .636 on-base percentage; Kaniecki was 5-for-11 with three RBIs, a triple, a double, a .727 slugging percentage and a .571 on-base percentage; and Royle posted a win, a save and a 2.42 ERA while striking out 14 in 17 1/3 innings.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
•Dayton scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and added an insurance tally in the sixth.
•Saint Louis had the tying runs aboard in the second and sixth innings but did not score.
 
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Royle allowed just one earned run, five hits and one walk.
•Rhine singled and walked.
